About Me

I am Susan King, a  student in the Master of Geospatial Information Science and Technology program at North Carolina State University. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology from North Carolina State University in 2010, and a Master of Science in Biology in 2012 from Eastern Kentucky University. My Master’s thesis examined the nesting ecology of Four-toed Salamanders in natural and human-made wetlands. I chose to enter the MGIST program because many of the research questions that interest me could benefit from utilizing various spatial analyses to understand the dynamic ecological processes at work. Ultimately, I hope to use my geospatial skills, in combination with my background in biology, to conserve wildlife and their habitats.
